Merlot was one of the first varietals to put Washington State on the world wine map, and this vintage of our Merlot once again shows why it is still among the best our state has to offer. Medium purple in color, our 2020 Merlot opens with intense and inviting classical Merlot aromas: plums and cocoa powder, joined seamlessly with barrel notes of vanilla, and cedar. Those same influences carry through to the palate where they are joined by juicy blueberries and depth from the Malbec in the blend. Mouthwatering acidity and supple slightly dusty tannins suggest superb age-ability and lead to a long finish. Pair this medium-bodied and balanced Merlot with an herb-crusted rack of lamb, prosciutto, or your favorite strong and creamy cheese.
