2017 Red Mountain Cuvee
The selection of grapes in our Red Mountain Cuvée changes from vintage to vintage, but it is always a stellar example of the power and intensity of wine from that acclaimed AVA. This dark purple wine opens with aromas of raspberries and dark cherry compote, with hints of dusty bramble and warm, sweet pipe tobacco. Intense, mouthwatering flavors of blackberry and pomegranate are joined by plum and more dark cherries, all backed by the firm Red Mountain tannin structure. The long finish features lingering dark fruits, vanilla, dark cocoa powder, coffee, and a return appearance of the sweet tobacco notes. Enjoy with something sizzling off the grill, or with hearty dishes like pot roast or veal saltimbocca. Even though we held this wine for nearly three years before release, it should continue to evolve beautifully in the bottle for many years to come!
