2018 Merlot
Merlot was one of the first varietals to put Washington State on the world wine map, and this vintage of our Merlot shows why it is still among the best our state has to offer. More purple than ruby-red, this vintage opens with intense and inviting aromas of black cherries, plums, cocoa powder and vanilla. Those same influences carry through seamlessly to the palate where they are joined by ripe juicy blackberries. Mouthwatering acidity and generous tannins suggest superb age-ability and lead to a long finish where the opening aromas reappear and are joined by light coffee notes. Pair this savory, dense, and balanced Merlot with an herb-crusted rack of lamb or strong cheeses.
