Wines from the famed Red Willow Vineyard are often some of the most distinctive produced in the state. Those who have been lucky enough to visit the site may immediately be transported back by this wine and its expansive scents and flavors of juicy red cherries, black currants, and blackberries, accompanied by hints of cedar and sagebrush, all carried seamlessly from start to finish by the mineral core and fine-grained structure characteristic of Red Willow. Named after one of the blocks from which these grapes were sourced (which was itself named after grower Mike Sauer’s mother), this wine is intense while still light and lively on the palate, finishing long after you swallow with lingering darker fruits and eastern-Washington desert aromatics.

Merlot was one of the first varietals to put Washington State on the world wine map, and this vintage of our Merlot once again shows why it is still among the best our state has to offer. Medium purple in color, our 2019 Merlot opens with intense and inviting classical Merlot aromas: cherries, plums, and cocoa powder, joined seamlessly with barrel notes of vanilla, and cedar. Those same influences carry through to the palate where they are joined by juicy blueberries from the Malbec in the blend. Mouthwatering acidity and supple tannins suggest superb age-ability and lead to a long finish. Pair this medium-bodied and balanced Merlot with an herb-crusted rack of lamb, prosciutto, or your favorite strong and creamy cheese.
Our 2019 100% Petit Verdot is another great example of the powerful yet softer wines that can be produced from this grape traditionally used only for blending. Classic aromas of violets and dusty lavender are joined by light notes of maple and sage. Inky dark purple in color, ripe plums, black cherries and sweet blackberries dominate the intense flavor profile. Bold, smooth tannins and a lush mouthfeel eventually give way to a lingering finish of dark fruits and earthiness. Pair with salty cheeses or your favorite grilled foods with a compound butter.
100% Petit Verdot
